After nearly two months the moment has come: I have my wedding dress! Ever since I received the news two days ago, that the dress was making its way from Suzhou, China to Solingen, Germany I was restless. It’s incredible to think that such a long distance can be covered in just two days’ time. And how great it is to be able to check the DHL tracker even by the hour as to how far my dress has come.

And all I can say is – it’s beautiful! Obviously I cannot say more, because more can be seen live in 59 days or on pictures afterwards . But I am happy to confirm that my Chinese friends did a very good job and the dress will certainly last for one full day .

My fiancé, however, had a hard time understanding why exactly I turned all nervous in waiting for the DHL courier. After all, he did not start dreaming as a small boy how it would be to one day wear a suit . Being faced with such an unusually squirmy bride-to-be, he may have even developed a few doubts as to what my main focus might be on June 6th. I admit I could not suppress a gasp when I first saw my wedding dress, but in that moment it was still absolutely clear that even such a beautiful dress cannot top the fact that soon I’m going to be his wife…

Nach fast zwei Monaten ist es endlich soweit: Ich halte mein Brautkleid in den Händen! Seit ich vor zwei Tagen per Email informiert wurde, dass es sich auf dem Weg von Suzhou, China nach Solingen, Deutschland befindet, hatte ich keine Ruhe mehr. Unglaublich, dass so ein langer Weg in nur zwei Tagen überwunden ist. Und wie dankbar war ich für das DHL tracking, mit dem ich im Stundentakt immer wieder nachverfolgen konnte, wie weit mein Kleid es schon geschafft hat!

Und ich kann nur sagen – es ist ein Traum! Der Rest wird natürlich nicht verraten, den sieht man dann entweder live in 59 Tagen oder auf den Fotos hinterher . Was ich aber sagen kann ist, dass meine chinesischen Freunde das Kleid so hochwertig genäht haben, dass es auf jeden Fall den einen Tag halten wird .

Für mein nervöses Warten auf den DHL-Boten hatte Holger nur mit großer Mühe ein bisschen Verständnis – schließlich freut er sich nicht schon seit er ein kleiner Junge ist auf den Tag, an dem er einen Anzug tragen darf . Angesichts einer solch ungeahnt hibbeligen Braut kamen ihm vielleicht auch Zweifel, worum es mir am 6.6. wirklich geht. Aber auch wenn ich beim Anblick des Kleides ein Schnappen nach Luft nicht vermeiden konnte, war selbst in diesem Moment klar, dass auch so ein tolles Kleid nicht schöner ist als die Tatsache, dass ich bald seine Frau sein werde…
